Microsoft has upgraded Hotmail, a growing class of almost mind spam - graymail. Graymail defines an e-mail content, which is really justified, but it is often regarded as embarrassing to the recipient - such as newsletters, once registered, and rarely opened, or, increasingly, many of today's offering is that the mailboxes full.
"What really characterizes graymail is that the same message, that a person thinks is spam, it could be very important for another person. It is not black and white, hence the name" according to the blog post by Microsoft indicate the changes.
To this end, he introduced five new tools for users to "get rid" graymail. These filters are the newsletter, which allows users to highlight and delete newsletters or cancel any amount of cleaning function is based on user-defined setting, the ability to flag email as the main stay at the top of the Inbox, and new options for users to remove the flag or when the mouse passes over e-mail.
Graymail a growing concern
Microsoft is not the only email service provider concerned graymail. It is increasingly a concern for ISPs, which are engaged in developing new tactics to combat it. Social media - and its integration in the channel e-mail - is a major driving force. Finally, the e-mail, Twitter and Facebook will evolve into a near-total "communication hub," said future technologies Professor Dr Mike Reddy, University of Wales Newport.
Mango, "the Microsoft talks about the idea of combining different sources so you would notice a hub," he said, through TMCnet. "This would be information that has come to you, and if it were an e-mail to send e-mail, but if it was a Twitter account that you want to send to Twitter via Live Broadcast". But you wouldn 't necessarily view it e-mail compared to Twitter - it's just a message that has arrived "
Dealing with ISP now Graymail
ISPs are currently tinkering with a hybrid approach to deal with graymail writes George Bilbrey, president of Return Path for Media Mail.
It consists of content filtering used later in the process to remove these e-mails with metric uncertain reputation. Some ISPs are adding new data points for their assignment algorithm - the measures to filter the individual level, he said. Such measures may include:
If the sender is in address book.
Replies to messages from a trusted source.
If the message is deleted without being opened.
The view (percent of the time to see messages from a reliable source).
